So, it obviously isn't the most polite thing for a new member to make his first post a suggestion about the way a forum he just joined is set up, but I am, unfortunately, just the sort of person who would...
There are a lot of boards. Quite a lot. At first glance it was even a touch over-whelming. To be realistic, you probably aren't going to have a lot of members at first, and even if you do, there's no guarantee that those members will find something to post in every board, meaning that you may end up with a lot of empty or barely used boards for a while -- at least until you get more members, perhaps longer.
Especially the boards under "Cloud Nine" and "Touch the Ground" could be combined into general analysis and advice/discussion boards respectively. That'd cut down on a bit of the clutter. "Through the Telescope Lens" and "Circling the Sun" could also be made into individual boards and put under a more general writing category (or something), seeing as there isn't enough activity at present (and may not be for some time) to warrant separate boards for project discussion, project archives, &c.
I know these are sort of big changes, but they would probably make the site a little less cluttered and a little more appealing. Forgive me for my rudeness, but sometimes I cannot help myself. :p

I disagree..... More boards means more generality. Although I would go as to say that a few boards repeat a little.

I agree with you there: more boards means more generality means more types of discussion. But it's sort of like operating on a gold standard: you need the members and discussion to back it up. Having one board with ten threads looks, oddly, more active than ten boards with a thread a piece (especially when many of those ten could be combined easily for now, with little detriment to serious discussion).
'Tis my only point.
(And 'tis also only a suggestion...)

True, true. I did consider this, but I like to be able to see everything on the main board without having to hunt through various sub-boards to find what I am looking for. You have some very valid concerns, however, and I would hate to overwhelm new members.
Perhaps I could remedy the issue by combining some of the boards in the discussion section to include more general topics, and then expand when necessary? Also, would it help if I removed the Through the Telescope Lens category and put that into the Navigating the Stars category as a board?

Yes, it might make sense -- for now, anyway -- for TtTL to be under Navigating the Stars as a board. And if you can combine them sensibly, it would probably be better for now -- at least a touch more easier on the eyes.
And sorry for being such a complainer. ^_^ But it was the second thought that came into my head after coming to the 'site; the first was about how cute the background was.

I'm glad you liked the background! The plain cubes looked a little boring And no need to apologize, I've had the forum in the "Get Opinions About Your Forum" section of the proboards support forum and nobody has commented yet. It's very helpful to get some input.
